Adam Ruszkowski is a Director of Photography working between Shanghai and Hong Kong.
He holds an MA from the Department of Film, Television, and Digital Media at AMU in Poland, and studied art history at Erasmus University in Rotterdam on a European Union scholarship.
He began his career shooting documentary projects across Asia, including major stories for VICE, while collaborating with local artists on short films. In China, his work has focused on long-form documentary storytelling, shooting feature films and series across the country for Warner Bros. Discovery, and CCTV-9. These include the Hong Kong series Tears of the Dragon, the multi-episode China Flash Forward, and the feature documentary Partnership Continues, which traces the work and legacy of the Kadoorie Foundation since the early 20th century. His work has since expanded across feature films, commercials, and music videos.
His cinematography has contributed to award-winning productions, including the Academy Award–winning documentary Citizenfour. Other credits include Kim Dotcom: Caught in the Web and Truth and Reconciliation (TVN Discovery Group, 2021), shot in remote regions near the Arctic Circle in Canada.
Adam regularly collaborates with global broadcasters and platforms including HBO, BBC, Netflix, Discovery Channel, and CNN Create, and has contributed to campaigns for brands such as Disney, Colliers, Cathay Pacific, Huawei, Swire, and Macao Government Tourism Office.
He also serves as an official ambassador for EasyRig in Mainland China and Hong Kong.
